The popularity of Wellness Programs is on the rise because of the benefits associated with offering employees the services explained in the paper.  The overall goal of a wellness program is to provide employees with the opportunity to live the healthiest lives that they can.  In doing this organizations are able to reduce costs and increase productivity.  In the long-run maintaining a healthy staff results in a great deal of profitability for the organizations.

Employee Benefits Communication Strategy

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the conflict and decision making that occurs in organizations; specifically in the discussion of employee benefits. It is very important to remember that employee benefits do not just encompass the money that the employee makes. Benefits include the paycheck, plus anything else that is a benefit to working for the company – health insurance, a car, uniforms that the employee is not required to pay for, an expense account, or anything along those lines. Much of the conflict and the decision making that are problematic within organizations are problematic mostly because of the extra 'perks' that come along with the benefit package, not the salary of the employee.

Voluntary benefits may be the ideal answer to an employers need to cut benefit costs while still maintaining and recruiting top talent.  Voluntary benefits offer more options for employees, cost less for employers, and still offer top-quality health care coverage.  As the economy continues to fluctuate, voluntary benefits may allow some employers to remain profitable, and with rising insurance costs, they may be the only way many small businesses can continue to offer any kind of health care benefits to their employees.
